AM I EATING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FOOD?

 

         A healthy plate of food will give us all of the good things we need to keep our bodies moving, thinking and growing.

 

Protein- helps us build strong muscles. Protein can be found in foods such as meat, eggs, cheese and peanut butter.

 

Vegetables and Fruit- give us important vitamins and minerals

 

Starches- give us energy. Starches are foods such as bread, bannock, rice and potatoes.

 

Try to think of your plate this way:
 


 

Fill half of your plate with fruits and vegetables. Fill one quarter of your plate with protein and the rest with starch. Finish up with a glass of milk and you have a balanced plate!
