O'CHIESE FIRST NATION CULTURAL CAMP AT MEDICINE LAKE

August 12-15, 2013

O'Chiese First Nation held a Cultural Camp for families at Medicine Lake they also had a mini powwow. The agenda included opening and closing ceremonies, Workshops for boys, men and fathers included: manhood, duties, healthy boundaries and healthy relationships

Workshops for girls, women and mothers included: Rights of passage, sewing, healthy boundaries and healthy relationships.

Workshops for everyone: kinship, importance of culture and the meaning and importance of your Indian name.

Other activities included a sweatlodge, hand games, recreation time and story telling.
