O’Chiese Election Overturned: Council Vote Voided Over Irregularities—New Election Ordered for COUNCIL MEMBERS.

The O’Chiese First Nation Election Appeal Board has ruled that the 2025 Council election was not conducted properly due to multiple issues, including ineligible candidates, problems with the voters list, and irregularities in the language testing process. As a result, the results for Council have been overturned, and a new election for all six Council positions must be held. The election for Chief remains valid and unchanged.

This decision ensures fairness and integrity in the electoral process and gives members another opportunity to choose their Council leadership.
